Traditional diamond mining and manufacturing companies often consume 6.2% of total energy globally and are very energy-intensive. According to researchers, it takes 96 to 150 KWH of energy to produce a carat of diamond.

But that doesn’t include Hari Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. anymore.

Our manufacturing is running on 100% renewable energy generated from our in-house solar panels that generate around 1,210,211 KWH per year. This is more than enough to supply power to an auditorium for over 33 years and can power approximately 40,340 households for a day. If this much energy is sourced through the traditional way of burning coal, it would take over 4,034 metric tons.

Since 2008, HK manufacturing in Surat has been using solar energy from a total of 4 plants of solar panel systems. “Why not make diamonds that are as pleasing to the earth as they are to the eyes?” Savji Dholakia, founder and chairman once visualised. Now, the vision has been materialised as these super-efficient solar panels provide manufacturing operations in the most earth-friendly way. “We will continue to produce diamonds in the most sustainable way”, Managing Director Ghanshyam Dholakia, added.

Our philanthropic arm Dholakia Foundation has taken an oath to make the world a better place through multi-sectoral initiatives such as Mission 102030 (10 million trees by 2030) and Mission100X (Conserving 100 Billion water), among others.

To date, we are steadily moving towards our goal by having grown over 2,800,844 trees and constructing at least 125 lakes across remote areas in India, thereby conserving over 13 billion litres of water.
