India's December 2016 G&J Exports Up 22.4%

India's exports of Gem & Jewellery for Dec.2016 recorded $3.09 bn showing a growth of 22.38% as compared to exports worth $ 2.53 bn for the same month year 2015, according to data released by the Gem & Jewllery Export Promotion Council of India.

De Beers' 2016 Revenue Up 30% to $6.1B, Rough Sales Soar 37% to $5.6B

De Beers reports that its total revenue increased by 30 percent to $6.1 billion in 2016, driven by higher rough diamond sales which increased by 37 percent to $5.6 billion. The miner said this was attributable to a 50 percent increase in consolidated sales volumes to 30.0 million carats compared with 19.9 million carats in 2015. This was partly offset by a 10 percent decrease in the average realized rough diamond price to $187 per carat from $207 per carat in the year before, reflecting the 13 percent lower average rough price index, offset to some extent by an improved sales mix.

India's January polished diamond exports up 3%; rough imports up 28%

India's exports of cut and polished diamonds recorded at $ 1.62 bn in January 2017, a rise of 2.9% as compared to the $ 1.57 bn in the same month in 2016, according to provisional data released by The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC).
